Nothings
An ever-evolving series of observational drawings exploring the texture and form. These pieces are an extension of the sculptural series Somethings. By pushing these three-dimensional pieces back into a two-dimensional landscape, they exist without their internal structure. In eliminating the assemblages of found objects altogether, the forms can be completely disassociated from their original object functions. With this, the objects become nothing. Wholly unrecognizable in their new state. It is in this state that I can transform them further, distorting them with expressive gestures, line, and color; exaggerating the details of their former selves.
