Vessels

In this series of suspended tubes, I shift focus from object to material, more deeply exploring the membranous potential of machine-knitted elastic. Stretched around circular hoops, the textile pulls, sags, and curves into undulating, vessel-like forms. The material is both structural and responsive, shaping and being shaped by gravity, tension, and its surrounding environment. Layered colors overlap in the air, producing subtle optical shifts as viewers move around them. These installations emphasize elasticity as an active force, foregrounding stretch, pressure, and suspension as sculptural language.
